Roof Repairs Across Dorset, Hampshire & Somerset

Most roof problems start small. A slipped tile, a hairline crack in a mortar joint or a tired bit of flashing can let water in long before you ever see a stain on the ceiling. By the time damp shows up indoors, it's usually been finding its way through for a while.

We carry out roof repairs on pitched and flat roofs across Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset — from swapping a handful of tiles to renewing valleys, verges and flashings. We always start by tracking down the real cause of the leak rather than just patching what's in front of us.

Common roof problems we repair

  • Roof leaks and water staining on ceilings or chimney breasts
  • Slipped, cracked or missing slates and tiles
  • Failed or missing lead flashing around chimneys, valleys and abutments
  • Damaged ridge and hip tiles, and loose or crumbling mortar bedding
  • Storm damage, including tiles lifted by high winds
  • Blocked, split or overflowing gutters causing damp at wall level
  • Rotten roof timbers, battens and felt failure at the eaves

How a roof repair works

We get up and take a proper look, find out exactly where the water's getting in, and talk you through what we've found in plain English — with photos where the area is hard to see from the ground. If the roof's steep or access is tricky, a drone survey often gives us a clearer picture without needing scaffolding.

You'll then get a written quote setting out the work, the materials and the price. We use matching tiles and slates wherever we can so the repair blends in, and we make good the surrounding area rather than leaving an obvious patch.

Repair or replace?

A well looked-after roof can be repaired many times over its life. But if the covering's coming to the end of its days, the battens are failing, or you're calling us out again and again, it's often cheaper in the long run to re-roof.

We'll show you what we find and talk you through which situation you're in. If a repair does the job, that's what we'll quote for. If the roof genuinely needs replacing, we'll explain why and walk you through what a new roof involves.
