New Roofs & Re-Roofing Across Dorset, Hampshire & Somerset

A re-roof is where a tired roof gets a fresh start. The old covering comes off, we inspect the structure underneath, and rebuild with new breathable membrane, new treated battens and a new tile or slate covering.

We fit new roofs on houses, extensions, bungalows and outbuildings throughout Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset, matching the character of the property and the street it sits on.

Signs a roof needs replacing rather than repairing

  • Widespread slipped or delaminating slates and tiles
  • Sagging roof lines or visible dips between rafters
  • Torn, brittle or missing felt visible at the eaves
  • Nail fatigue, where fixings have corroded and tiles slide with no obvious cause
  • Repeated leaks in different areas of the same roof
  • Repair costs approaching the cost of a new covering

What a new roof includes

We strip the existing covering, check and replace any defective timbers or battens, and fit a modern breathable underlay to help manage moisture in the roof space. New tiles or slates go on next, with fresh leadwork to chimneys, valleys and abutments.

We normally finish ridge and hip lines with a dry-fix system rather than mortar alone, which can reduce the risk of movement in exposed coastal spots. Ventilation is set out to suit the roof build-up, so moisture can be managed once the work is complete.

Materials and finishes

Concrete and clay tiles, natural slate and fibre cement slate all behave differently and suit different properties. We'll talk you through the options for your roof, how they look and what they cost, before you commit to anything.
